Company Admins don’t see a Clock In control — admin accounts manage the workspace but don’t log their own time.
Clocking in from your dashboard
Look for the Clock In button in the top navigation bar (or the clock card on your dashboard).- Click Clock In
- A toast confirms you’re clocked in, and the button becomes a live running timer
Clocking in from your dashboard always starts “now” — you can’t back-date it. If you need to log time for earlier in the day, add it manually from the Timesheets page instead.
Clocking out
Click the running timer to open the Clock Out summary. It shows:- When you started and how long you’ve worked
- Your scheduled hours for today (or “Flexible schedule” if you’re not on a fixed roster)
Click Keep Working to cancel and dismiss the summary without clocking out.
Forgot to clock out?
If a session is left running for more than 12 hours, Shiftsheet automatically closes it at the 12-hour mark and adds a note to the entry. You’ll see a message the next time you try to clock out (“your session ran past 12 hours and was clocked out automatically”) — the entry is already on your timesheet, so just review and adjust the hours if needed.Using a workplace Kiosk
Some companies set up a shared tablet or browser at the workplace — a Kiosk — for clocking in and out instead of (or alongside) the dashboard. Ask your admin for the kiosk’s URL or check the device at your workplace.1
Tap to Clock In / Out
On the kiosk’s idle screen, tap the button to start.
2
Enter your PIN
Type your 4-digit Kiosk PIN on the number pad. This is different from your login password.
3
Pick a project (if required)
If your company requires it, choose which project you’re working on. You’ll see your scheduled shift for today alongside the picker.
4
Pick a task (if required)
If the project has tasks assigned to you and your company requires it, select one or more — your hours split equally across whichever tasks you pick.
5
Clock in
A green confirmation shows for a few seconds, then the kiosk returns to idle.
Open session detected: if you still have a session running from an earlier day, the kiosk will prompt you to close it before starting a new one, rather than silently stacking sessions.
